Eighth chapter

BOOM!
A house behind Frostwind erupted in flames. Magical missiles of fire and ice were raining upon him, yet he dodged them all. Being small had its up sides.
He dodged left, right, rolled on the ground and threw a fire blast.

Exen´tor scorched the earth around Xarock the night elf with a streaming jet of fire. But the night elf didn’t hesitate for a second and ran trough the fire , sword ready and poised to strike Exen’tor. Exen’tor dodged the blow prematurely to the left, which was exactly what Xarock had hoped for. He swung the sword like an axe and would have cleaved Exen’tor in half, if not for Ankthar.
He blocked the blow with his axe and charged immediately for a counterstrike.
Xarock jumped away, his sword held up high and wide, open for both MIzra and Exen’tor to attack.

Mesfer threw his lowly fireballs wildly at Frostwind who dodged or absorbed them with some strange mechanism on his hand.
He ran towards Mesfer, readied a frostbolt in his right hand, jumped towards Mesfer who tirelessly and desperately tried to hit him. He landed with his frostbolt in Mesfer’s head which was immediately encased in ice.

Frostwind landed on his knees and stood slowly up (for a man of his size), „I took one of ‘em out, how’re you doing xarock.“
„Well i´m making progress“, xarock replied quite comical with his whole body encased in ice, „I think.“
„What ´d like to know is how you managed to survive the spell “mizra pondered while knocking on the ice.
„mahh I can take a few hits “Xarock replied sleepily.
Ankthar wasn´t at all happy with Exen’tor„: Didn´t you say as few casualties as possible ? That house is burning!“
„That was a command for you“ exen´tor replied with crossed hands, „I am of course beyond my own commands.“
„That doesn´t even make sense !“
„No it doesn´t“ exen´tor said smiling, „that’s why it does.well we should get going I figure that we shouldbe able to steal a team of gryphons and,,“
„HOLD IT “Frostwind commanded angrily,„ I´M STILL HERE.“
„Oh yeah I knew I was forgetting something“ Exen´tor replied sarcastically.
„Shut up you,,“ frostwind ,spat out, „you there, dwarf, did you just call him Exen’tor?“

Ankthar stopped examining the thickness of the ice that encased Xarock for a second and said:„yeah, wha' of it?“
„Your name is exen’tor, then the imps name is mesfer and that girl over there is mizra, am I right?“
„Hey i´m no girl „frost-wind“, mizra shot angrily„,you should watch out what you´re saying when I can freese your head out of the dimiension.“
Frostwind noticed the dark magic around her and shivered.
„All righ all right let´s calm down “he said with his hand held out soothingly in front of him. He sighed and asked:„ are you friends with Sira’dreth the bloodmage?“

With a roar she stood up, her eyes determined. She could not stay here anymore. Her presence alone poised danger to all inhabitants of the forge.
She walked to her cabinet, threw out an impossible number of clothes and clad herself in light armor. She then threw her clothes over her and looked at herself in the mirror. And there she was in all her badly dressed glory, she had often been described as impossibly beautiful and she believed she still was.

Her long and fair yellow hair(which was presently on fire) sat near perfectly on her shoulders. Her clothes were magical and fell tight to her body and hid the armor which she always kept on. She wore a long yellow-redish skirt which danced around her ankles and a top in the same colors.

For a second, a memory of a better time when she wore a lot more civilized robes flashed before her eyes, but she looked away from the mirror and walked out of the house, a tear sizzling on her chin.

She planned to hire a gryphon and somehow flee to Kalimdor.
Over there the worst thing you could encounter was a demon. She though and smiled; a demon was something she could easily handle. She ran out through a secret door and to an empty passageway.
Although the authorities of ironforge ignored her existence in exchange for her unique abilities with the lava and fire, she was still an outcast and it was the guard’s duties to eradicate such outcasts. She didn’t want to harm the guards needlessly, that would be a waste of precious power.

She ran through a couple of abandoned houses and
kept to the shadows hidina and blending in the environment.
She was about to exit through a crumbled doorway when a giant sword came out of those shadows and was thrusted stuck to the wooden doorway.
„Hello there blood elf“ a murky conceited voice said,„ how are we doing today?“

Sira’dreth sighed; his agonizing screams would without a doubt reach the ears of some guards in the vicinity. She looked at the ugly grinning human face, well maybe if she burned him quickly enough he wouldn’t have time to scream.
She faced the man and put on her cute innocent smile and asked him„ like a little girl, hey there, you’re not from here are you?“
The man chuckled; „heh nahh you noticed didn’t ya. Have to excuse I got this tongue from a paladin, not really a talkative guy you know, only said things like : smite the undead!, or : For the scarlet crusade!“
Then she noticed how unnatural his face looked and how it seemed to be somehow made from a bunch of heads.
„Who are you what are“,, she asked grimly, but was interrupted by a rumbling deep in the ground.
„What is going on here “she asked over the wildly growing noises of the rumble.
Somewhere the rumbling stopped and voices screamed.

The man waggled his head like a dog and said grinningly: “that would be your escort precious.“

„Are you friends with Sira’dreth ?“ Frostwind asked again.
The faces of Exen´tor and Mizra were grim.
„How do you know Sira?“ Exen’tor asked worried for some reasons.
Frostwind sighed;„ if you are who I think you are you better come with me.“
„Answer me! How do you know Sira’dreth?“

Frostwind who was throwing things out of his backpack fumbled at the question and blushed.
„Its , its personal.“
„We won´t go anywhere until you explain to us your relationship with her!“
Frostwind jumped at the mention of relationship and his face became even redder.
„If you must know, if you have to know,,, sira and I,,, “he became very concentrated on finding something in his backpack.
„Yes ?“ Mizra asked at length
„WE’RE LOVERS“ you happy now? He screamed and half buried himself in the backpack
„Hehe lovers “Xarock sniggered.

The grim faces of the blood elves were replaced by one of amaze and hilarity.
„No’ wha I’d like to kno’ and thes is purely ‘ypothetical, anktar asked residing on his axe, ‘ow is tha physically ‘ossible? I mean can ye draw me a picture or ,,,“
„SHUT UP! “Frostwind yelled at him and then calmed down,„ I found it, I found the reagent huddle up.“
„No’ theres ‘nother question, when you cuddle do ye cuddle with her knees or stomach or,, “Ankthar began, chuckling.
„SHUT UP “ Frostwind yelled again.

The grouped up near Xarock’s ice tombed body.
„Ehh guys?“ Xarock asked.
„Yeah“ Exen’tor replied still in shock.
„Could I get a meltdown here, getting kinda chilly.“
„Too late Frostwind replied and the magic began.“
The world swirled before them and their eyes felt like they bulged out.
A stream of colors erupted around them and suddenly they were in somebody’s home in ironforge.

And then they felt the abnormal rumble.

„I´ve been to Ironforge before and I assure you it was not so noisy,“ Exen’tor stated.
A crack was made at the floor.
„What in the frozen glacier of Northrend oww is happening? “Mizra screamed as she fell to the ground after a specially big rumble.
„I don’t,, “Frostwind began but was rudely interrupted when the crack opened and fiery wormlike beasts crawled out and roared violently at the companions.
„Know“, he ended in the squeakiest voice as he stood directly in front of the beast.

Xarock, Mizra and Exen´tor however screamed for their life, Xarock maybe the most as he was still frozen in Mizra’s ice.
One of the beasts inhaled and all except Xarock jumped away for the incoming blast.
All he did was saying: oh shucks, not again.
The fire blast turned most of the room on fire and when it was over the beasts had gone.
„What the hell was that?“ Exen´tor demanded grimly.
„I have no idea, that thing seemed to be made out of fire!“ Frostwind answered excited.
„Frostwind, whose house is this? “Mizra asked seemingly more calm than the others.
„Its sira’s house.“
„But she´s not here.“
„She must have known of their arrival and tried to escape, and those things are after her“ Frostwind said so fast that most of the sentence was blurred by his footsteps as he ran out of the house.
„They must have a way to track her down, after them! “Mizra commanded as she jogged after the hard running gnome.
Exen’tor followed her, preparing spells he might use in the absence of mesfer.

They followed the lava trail and the screams from the city leaving only the handicapped Xarock behind.
For although the fire had melted most of the ice, it had left behind a thin but an unreasonably strong plate of ice.
„Aww shucks“ he cursed as he tried to pound the ice through with his sword.
„I’m missing all the fun.“
most plans are critically flawed by their own logic.a failure at any step will ruin everything after it.
