However it points out that Minh “Gooseman” Le, Jess Cliffe, Chris Auty and Neil will be making presentations. There will also be workshops held by companies such as Intel, Valve, Gearbox! CPL Announces Intel is World Championship Sponsor
The Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) announced today that Intel has become the official sponsor of the CPL World Championship Event. The World Championship Event, which will be powered by the Pentium® 4 Processor, will host the world's largest single computer-game tournament, with total cash prizes of $150,000. Intel, the world's largest chip maker, is also a leading manufacturer of computer, networking and communication products. The World Championship Event is expected to attract 2,000 gamers from 30 countries and viewership is estimated to reach 300,000 gamers worldwide. The World Championship will take place in Dallas, Texas at the Hyatt Regency Dallas by Reunion Arena. Doors will open to the public on Wednesday, December 5 and activities will conclude Sunday, December 9, 2001.

An open LAN area where gamers can bring their own computers to unofficially compete against other gamers connected to a high-speed network, will have enough room for 1,000 computers and will remain open to the public 24 hours a day.

The event will host a number of workshops by companies such as Intel, Valve, Gearbox, Ritual and others. Invited speakers include, Minh “Gooseman” Le, Jess Cliffe, Chris Auty and Neil Manke. Company officials interested in holding workshops at this event should send an email to workshops@thecpl.com.

Approximately twenty companies will have exhibition booths at this event, demonstrating the latest technology in processors, video cards, mp3 players, sound systems, pointing devices, gamer wearables, monitors and more.
