Your initial post on this thread cracked me up, and is so true. I haven't seen this flick in a long time, but having loved the first one, I'd looked forward to seeing the sequel.
It doesn't quite draw you in like the first, and has so many discrepancies from the original that it doesn't quite work. I do like the ending where Bastian wishes the soreceress/queen/whatever had a heart, and that's how he “wins.”
Still, probably wasn't a good idea to make a lackluster sequel to a movie that is so close to the hearts of its fans.

The fact that we all called this a sequal is pretty irelavent. (sorry if thats misspelled but after all, I am an ignorant american) it doesn't change the fact that the charactors and all of the surroundings were drastically changed and altered. Forget that its a sequal or a continuation, it still ruined the franchise.

OK, the MOVIE was made to be a SEQUEL to the ORIGINAL movie. I know that both movies were from the same book, but the people here aren't complaining about the book, they're complaining about the second movie in this trilogy, also known as a SEQUEL. So ‘scuse us for being “ignorant americans” but it isn’t our nationalities that make us ignorant, its that fact that we JUDGE people (that was supposed to be a HINT, but I'm assuming you got that since you're not one of us “ignorant americans”).
And by the way, I totally agree that the second movie (cough cough sequel cough cough) was so much worse than the first. The thing that bugs me the most about it is Falkor's eyes. In the first movie they were pretty brown, like a puppy's eyes. In the second they were blood red. Is Falkor supposed to be evil or something?
There are no happy endings, because nothing ever ends.

Back on track, I guess I'm the only one who actually likes the sequel. It is no where near as good as the original, but I still love to watch it. Maybe it's Nimbly?

Hm, i agree with the beginning and the end of this thread. First, Schuwawerpserxech's (is it Austrian ?) post ripped my pants in pieces, as it was both very funny and accurate. Neverending 2 has anyway one good point : it pushes you to watch the prequel, sequel, erh whatsoever the other one. I mean, NeverEnding Story 1. Come on, you understood.
And I also totally agree with peterParker, whom side I join against people like raven. Ignoring that Neverending 2 isn't a sequel isn't enough, for me, to make a whole people ignorant. Even americans. And yet, I'm french [[winkgrin]] !

Back to the topic at hand, I watched this movie when I was really young. So young in fact that I can't remember most of it. I remember enjoying the first and second one actually. But based on what people are saying (or were saying, rather) the second one isn't quite as good. I still want to see both again. It'd be like watching them for the first time again, really. :)

I'm quite skilled with a computer so I know that only idiots use that butchered language. It's a sign of laziness and stupidity when you have to type u, ppl, ur etc. Hell, you don't even capatelize your I's! Just because you're on a computer, what makes you think people will respect you if you type like a moron? Or maybe you failed first grade English class so you feel like you have to simplify your writing/typing.
Using that method of typing makes you yourself look like a kid because it's not propor English. I can guarantee you right here an now that everyone who meets you on the net will not show you any sign of respect if you type like a lazy ass. Unless they themselves are bad spellers. Proof of this can be found by everyone elses comments to you on this thread alone.
And don't even bother to speak to me about intellect until you can use the English language the way it was MEANT to be used. I suggest you go back to school and actually pay attention to what you're teacher is telling you. Also try to pick up some common sence. It'll go a long way.
On the subject of the movies at hand, I'm beggining to wonder if they even exist anymore. All the stores and video rentals either don't carry any copies of either the first or the second, or the person I ask is too young to know what the hell I'm even talking about.

yall might think im crazy but i think that the second one was WAY better then the first one…but that could b because i watched the 2nd one first for YEARS before i watched the first (because my big brother taped it win he was younger) or it could be because i think bastian is really hot in the 2nd one n ugly in tha first OR it could b because i havent watched the 1st one all the way through yet…i LUV this movie n i dont think theres anything wrong with it…im not a big fan of the first one though cuz it cant keep my attention

I don't think Raven originally meant that Lord of the Rings was divided into just two movies. He rather should have said ”Like Lord of the Rings, the book had to be divided into multiple movies.“ Although with his horrible spelling, grammer and manners, I can see why nobody can understand him. I actually liked the second one too. if you have read the book(which i recomend), you will see that the sequal is actually the second half of the book. now as for the curly hair and different looking actors, and the different scenery, i don't know where they where going with that. And daer god do not see the strait-to-video third one, it was a thorny piece of *beep*

I think it is funny that this KID, has been making the same ignorant posts for a little over 1 year now. His original post (Fri Feb 13 2004) about the “Ignorant Americans” just prooves how ignorant this KID really is. God bless the lot of you. I'm personally looking forward to being called “kid” by raven, it's like a rite of passage or something. I mean, I just passed a delightful half hour reading over the year plus conversation here and I can't decide which is my favorite part. That people keep trying to argue with him?
