RED BULL/KTM TEAM CLINCHES 1-2 in 125cc AMA NATIONAL OUTDOOR MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP;

GRANT LANGSTON CROWNED 2003 125cc AMA CHEVY TRUCKS U.S. MOTOCROSS CHAMPION.

After one of the hottest contested 125cc Outdoor National MX Championships in history, Red Bull/KTM teammates Grant Langston and Ryan Hughes finish the season 1-2 with Grant taking home the championship by a mere seven points. For Grant, a former World Motocross Champion, a U.S. National Motocross Championship has been a life long dream. After almost winning the championship in 2001, Grant has battled his way back from a long list of injuries and setbacks to finally take home the title he so richly deserves.

For Ryan Hughes, one of the most popular riders on the circuit today, his second place finish can only be view with mixed emotions. Without question his results throughout the 2003 season established himself as a worthy champion as well. Even after sustaining a broken ankle at Rd #4- Ryan made a late season charge never before seen and came up just a few points shy. He'll take another shot at it again in 2004 (he recently re-signed with KTM for 2004 to ride the 125cc Outdoor Motocross series)

For KTM this championship represents the Austrian manufacturers first ever AMA National Outdoor Motocross title. It is the culmination of four years of hard work; dedication and commitment by KTM to it's worldwide racing program and in particular to KTM's focus on the U.S. Motocross market. The Red Bull/KTM team achieved remarkable results throughout the 2003 season, sometimes placing as many as 4 riders in the top 10-moto scores. The 1-2 result overall is a tremedous accomplishment any way you measure it and further demonstrates the team's dominance in the 125cc category.

Congratulations are in order for Team Manager Larry Brooks, Grant's mechanic Mike, Ryan's mechanic Jonathan, and the entire Red Bull/KTM team. According to Larry Brooks, “I'm just amazed at how well the team pulled together through the season. I just can't thank everyone involved enough. It was tough down the stretch, with two of our guys so close together, but in the end it all worked out. I'm very proud to bring this championship home for KTM”.

The team also wants to thank and recognize all its sponsors for their support throughout the season. At the top of that list is Red Bull. The Red Bull/KTM relationship is one of the strongest motor sports partnerships in the world today. The worldwide race winning results achieved by this team is irrefutable.
