Satoru Iwata sagði í japönsku viðtali á arftaki GameCube muni koma út árið 2005 og verði tilbúin til að takast á við næstu tölvur Sony og Microsoft, en hann segist einni hafa heimildir fyrir því að þau tvö fyrirtæki gefi sínar ekki út fyrr en snemma árs 2006.

Iwata sagði einnig “When we withdraw from the home game console, that's when we withdraw from the video game business.” Eða með öðrum orðum… They ain´t leavin´!
