08/21/2003. Roman Abramovich's summer spending is set to rise above the £90m mark as Hernan Crespo appears to be on the brink of a move to Stamford Bridge.

The Argentine striker is understood to have held talks with the London club last night after his club Inter Milan revealed they'd listen to offers for the player.

The 28-year-old, who will cost in the region of £20million, is believed to have been lured to the Premiership on a staggering £90,000-per-week wage.

Crespo will join friend and international team-mate Juan Sebastian Veron at the Bridge after he earlier moved from Manchester United.

Veron said: “The team is looking for Crespo, who is one of the greatest strikers in the world. It will be very hard, but not impossible.”

The imminent arrival of the former Parma striker led to Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri allowing young striker Carlton Cole to join Charlton on a season-long loan yesterday.

Það er ekki ólíklegt að hann fari til Chelsea, vegna þess:
Hann er spenntur fyrir því að fara til Chelsea
Inter er tilbúið til þess að selja hann
