Eastside Hockey Manager -project was first started long ago, when DOS was the OS and Windows was just for business. With QBasic and it's low memory capabilities, the project was abandoded again and again, after programming skills and system memory ran out.
Since 1997 we have been trying to develop a new sim with Visual Basic and after years of learning and researching the project finally got to a good start and was made public in the summer of 1999. With the impression that there were no other projects trying to replace HLS2, the project was introduced to a greater audience and turned from a little inside project to a project known across the world. However, with the other sims popping up everywhere and then some of them dying away, the team looked to Black Ice Hockey and saw something that could push over HLS2. And so the EHM project was put aside to help with the BIH project. After the co-operations died away, so did EHM.
The source code was gipperish and the gameplay was way too slow. It got the stage of a demo (which can still be found somewhere) but that was it….
Until in November 1999 the team picked up from scratch and developed a whole new system that simulated games many times faster than on any other tries. Around that system, a new generation of Eastside Hockey Manager was built and this site is all about that game. So there are literally years of research and thousands of man hours in this project and we aim to make it one of the best hockey simulators there are. Fun for one and all for fun !
