That next Mos Def or Blackstar album is gonna have to wait kiddies; Mos Def is pursuing this acting thing heavily. After receiving critical acclaim for his performance in the Broadway play, Topdog/Underdog, Mos has just secured another role in the film remake, Italian Job. The film in based on the 1969 cult classic about a planned heist to steal a safe full of gold.

The movie will star Mark Wahlberg (as Charlie), Edward Norton, Franky G, and Charlize Theron. Mos will play the character, Half Ear, a member of Charlie's crew. Half Ear is a southern-bred robber with a hearing aid, hence the name. Production on the film begins this fall with a 2003 release.
