Nas Lands At Number One, Receives 5 Mics From The Source

Nasty Nas' 5th album, Stillmatic, will land at number 1 on Billboard's Hip-Hop/Rap charts and number 8 on the Top 200 album charts.
Nas bested heated competition, fending off releases from nemesis Jay-Z, Mystikal, Lil Bow Wow, Wu-Tang and The Ruff Ryders.

Stillmatic moved over 340,000 units compared to Jay-Z's Blueprint Unplugged album, which moved a little over 130,000 in it's first week, landing Jigga at number 34. Stillmatic is Nas' 4th consecutive top 10 debut and 5th top 15. His only album that didn't debut in the top ten was his first album, Illmatic, which missed the top ten by two positions.

In the latest issue of The Source, the critically acclaimed Stillmatic received a coveted and usually hard to achieve 5 Mics, as did Jay-Z. Nas is the first solo act that can boast two 5 mic albums. Illmatic received the ranking in 1994.
