REYK VEEK er samrýmdur hópur skipaður íslenskum neðanjarðar technolistamönnum. Þörfin fyrir að skapa eitthvað nýtt kviknaði við fjölda ónýttra tækifæra í danstónlistarsenu Íslands – kreppan ýtti undir sköpunarþörfina og var tækifæri til að uppgötva og þróa íslenska danstónlist.

Stefna:

+ Hefja íslenska neðanjarðar techno byltingu sem allir geta tekið þátt í;

+ Komast á framfæri með blöndu af gömlum og nýjum aðferðum, og nýta nálægðina sem skapast í íslensku næturlífi;

+ Vinna að og þróa tón- og sjónlist sem kynna má erlendis sem alíslenska vöru;

+ Endurspegla vinnu hòpsins í gegnum útgáfufyrirtækið REYK VEEK (VEEK***): ùtgàfan stendur eingöngu af íslenskum listamönnum;

+ Halda reglulega viðburði undir nafni REYK VEEK til að móta, og verða mótaðir af íslenskri dansmenningu.

REYK VEEK is a collective of Icelandic underground techno artists.
The urge to come up with something new and specifically Icelandic draws from simple ideas that for many reasons had not been implemented yet; the global economic turmoil which resulted in the severe financial and social kreppa is seen by the REYK VEEK collective as an opportunity to discover and develop the nation's best in underground dance music.

Agenda:

+ start an all-icelandic underground techno scene that may appeal to the masses;

+ networking and promoting by a combination of new media and traditional channels, exploiting the very intimate nature of social activities and clubbing in Iceland;

+ work on and develop a music and visual arts scene that may be exported as an all-Icelandic product;

+ crystalize the so-shaped scene in the REYK VEEK record label (VEEK** with regular digital and vinyl releases; signed artists will be exclusively Icelandic;

+ REYK VEEK events will be held on a regular basis, so as to shape -and in turn be shaped by - the Icelandic clubbing scene.
