ICELAND TO BE THE NEXT MEMBER IN THE BIG BOXING FAMILY

Some weeks ago we have received by the EABA Office copy of the following
message:

To whom it may concern:
As you might know boxing has been illegal for the last 46 years but after a hard battle we have finally been able to deliver a knockout blow to the prejudice that surrounded the sport here in Iceland and on the 11th of February boxing was made legal again. We have a lot of young talented boxers who have been practicing for the last years but know finally our doors have been opened for us to join the international boxing community and participate in international tournaments. The problem that stands in our way right know is that we don't have any judges approved by AIBA, we would of course like to join your organization, how do we do that? Can you help us train judges and trainers according to the standards of AIBA?
We are right now forming the Icelandic boxing committee and are eager to begin our work. We hope to have a long and lasting relationship with AIBA as Iceland takes it firsts steps into the world of boxing.
Best Regards
Salvar Halldor Bjornsson

The EABA President Acad.E.Jetchev answered this message accordingly and has
taken care of the issue.
We would like just to send our Nordic friends a warm and cordial welcome on
behalf of the boxing Family!
