The effect will be damage to your health and, obviously, reduced vision. The smoke cloud will dissipate after 30 seconds. If you're exposed to the gas (without a mask), you'll take plenty of damage. If you plan on using this grenade, be sure to pick up a gas mask from the equipment stand near the juggling clown in the back.

2: Flare. Lýsing: This item can be used to illuminate dark camping spots, so enemies cannot use them later in the round. Presumably it lasts for a longer period of time than, say, the smoke grenade. Perhaps it has an adverse effect on the not-so-popular night vision goggles. Perhaps. Not much is known about this ‘weapon’ (it's included in this section because of its placement.

3: Molotov Cocktail. Lýsing: (Only Terror) Terrorists can ignite this weapon and throw it to create a large fire that dies down fairly quickly (I would guess ~15 seconds). This weapon is bought under the grenade menu, hence its placement in the weapons section. Randy Pitchford has said that in his experience, "the Molotov is one of the most tactically significant weapons in Condition Zero.

4: Gas Mask. Lýsing: This item will prevent the chemical gas grenade from affecting you.

5: M-60E3. Lýsing: (Only Terror) While the E3 version of the M-60 series, a lighter version with a shorter barrel, has come under fire (no pun intented) by the Marines because it's not stable enough to fire over the head of friendlies and the barrel is not strong enough to maintain fire 200 rounds per minute, apparently this weapon is quite good in-game. The longer you hold down the fire button, the more accurate the weapon is. Dealing out 7.62mm (AK-47-ish) punches very rapidly should make this weapon pretty useful.
